ORQUESTA ALTO MAIZ TURNS 32!
In what seems like the blink of an eye "Orquesta Alto Maiz" (OAM) has gone from one, fun experimental gig in 1986 to becoming one of the midwest's most recognized, respected and talked about "salsa" and Latin Jazz bands. Thirty-four years later the band has weathered reports of it's disbanding and still stands strong with it's uncompromising commitment to outstanding musicianship. The band turns thirty-four and will begin celebrating early by kicking off the 80th North Iowa Band Festival in Mason City, making our 25th appearance at "Dubuque and All That Jazz" and then returning to our birthplace on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa for a tour d' force performance at the College Hill Arts Festival.
